If you love that spring is springing all around the world, as much as we do, then you might find it’s a great time to get your vacation planning underway to visit some of the best spring festivals happening around the world. Brit Olom Tours in Miami would love to help you do just that by providing you with a few of our top spring festival suggestions today.

The Water Festival in Songkran, Thailand is held just after the spring equinox. This year the festival will be from April 13-15. The festival has become the traditional celebration of the New Year in Thailand and should only be taken on by the adventure seekers. The city is very busy and full during this time of year, but you can expect beautiful, festive colors in this lively city, as well as of course, water. Bring your own water gun and gear up for water activities in the street in order to celebrate. After you’ve dried off, take some to visit the more reverent areas of Thailand, such as the temples and monasteries that allow visitors.

The Holi Festival, celebrated throughout all of India, and even in other countries with high Indian populations, is literally the most colorful festival there is. The holiday is set aside to show appreciation to a Hindu god. It is celebrated by throwing colored powder from bags, hands, and even buckets, on all of the celebrators. The powder is non-toxic and very refreshing on the skin. You’ll leave with a very colorful complexion indeed.

For the foodies amongst us, don’t neglect the much closer vacation to Austin’s Food & Wine Festival in April this year. Not only will you be able to participate in tasting parties, rub elbows with the culinary elite, and eat, eat, eat, you’ll also be able to hear some great music while you’re there. Don’t miss the first night of the event where you’ll get a special introduction into the great food of Texas, featuring food by the greatest chefs the state has to offer. If trips revolving around food sound like an excellent idea to you, then be sure to check out our suggested destinations for foodies

Lastly, and only if you desire being part of one big party for 5 days, you can always give Spain’s Fallas de Valencia festival a try. Valencians and other Spaniards will take to the streets for 5 days, with bright and entertaining floats, parades, and pageants. Perhaps the most important night to be present for the festival is the last. Valencians will turn off all of the lights in the city, having already set up elaborate paper mache characters throughout the city. They’ll set fire to the paper mache figures, loaded with fireworks, and it is a fireworks display like no other.
