Travel to the End of the World in Chile

Chile may not be the most well-known country in the world, but it is definitely worth visiting. Its long and lean shape makes it easy to see a large portion of the country in one trip, allowing you to get a real Chilean perspective. If you're not sure what to see in Chile, check out these suggestions.

Enjoy City Life in Santiago, Chile

Santiago, the capital of Chile, is centrally located, giving you access to many other points in the country. The city is the largest in the country and is the cultural, political, and economic center of the Chile so you can be sure you will find plenty to do. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by the beautiful backdrop the Andes Mountains provide. Things you can't miss here include museums like La Chascona, one of Pablo Neruda's homes; Parque Forestal, a sprawling park where the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes is located, and the local cuisine. Stop for a traditional empanada but leave room for other dishes like choirpan and completos. For the best view of the city, head to the top Cerro San Cristobal. The view at sunset is incredible with the snowy Andes serving as the perfect backdrop.

Take a Break at the Beach

If city life isn't what you dreamed of while on vacation, it only takes a short trip to get to one of the country's many beaches. Because it has such a long coastline, you can find all types of beaches in the country. Some of the most popular include Pichilemu, Viña Del Mar, and La Serena. For something truly unique, head to Easter Island. Although it does take a plane ride to get there, it's a must visit. Get up close and personal with the Moai, the large head figures scattered through the island, and relax on the incredible island beaches. Anakena is the most well-known beach thanks to its impressive views, but you can also head over to a hidden beach for a more quiet and private evening.

Make Time for Adventure

A trip to Chile wouldn't be complete without a stop in Patagonia. If you're looking for adventure, there are plenty of national parks that offer incredible scenery you won't get anywhere else. Torres del Paine National Park offers hiking trails of all levels where you will find impressive mountains, lakes, and even glaciers. Make time to visit Isla Magdalena, home to a penguin sanctuary. Other picturesque cities to visit in Patagonia include Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales.
