Look at the image above. Can you even believe that this surreal photo was taken right here in the USA? It was! At Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming!

Yellowstone was the first US National Park, established in 1872, and is still one of the country’s most precious naturaltreasures. Part of its importance stems from its many hydrothermal features, such as the Old Faithful Geyser, and the fact that its territory includes the Yellowstone Caldera, the continent’s largest super-volcano.

These helped the park receive the designationof UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The US National Parks are experiencing a phased reopening so check before you go but this may be the perfect time to visit Yellowstone.

To learn what you’ll experience while you’re there, read this post by Brit Olom Tours, Inc. in Miami, FL.

Hydrothermal Features

Probably the most impressive sight to witness at Yellowstone are geothermal in nature. Mud pools, geysers, hot springs, travertine terraces, and fumaroles are everywhere. Half of the world’s geysers and hydrothermal features are located in Yellowstone.
